HANA

The most isolated towns in the Hawaiian Islands.

Welcome to Hana

Head east from Haiku on Maui’s north shore and after a few miles, you will find yourself on the winding, meandering and totally enchanting “Road to Hana”. Along the way, you will pass through the areas of Huelo then Nahiku.

With a year-round population of fewer than 1,000 people, Hana Town is one of the most isolated towns in the Hawaiian Islands. Hana is deeply “Hawaiian” and, despite the traffic on the famous road, is exposed to less tourism and outside influences than many other areas on the island.

Hana, and the surrounding areas, are considered "Real Hawaii" by many due to it having remained unchanged relative to the rest of the state’s development. The town is small and quiet, but there is plenty to do. Enjoy the stunningly beautiful Hamoa Beach or Red Sand Beach. Swim at Venus Pools or the Seven Sacred Pools, hike to a waterfall, visit a local art gallery or dine at one of the local food trucks.

For those in search of an authentic Hawaiian lifestyle, there could not be a better community than Hana. Sweet plantation cottages populate the areas near town and Hana Bay, while more isolated estates can be found in the surrounding hills.
