Just four miles east of Kahului, you'll find the historic beach town of Paia located on the island’s north shore. With deep agricultural roots, Paia, was a booming plantation town during the heyday of Maui's sugar cane industry. Today Paia is a town of colorful, rustic storefronts filled with local art galleries, one-of-a-kind boutiques and restaurants.
The beaches and surf breaks around Paia are world famous destinations for enthusiasts, the town is deeply immersed in Maui’s north shore surf and wind surf cultures. Paia is the best place to fully embrace the island’s surf and beach vibe. Stops at Baldwin Beach and Hookipa Beach Park are a must.
When it comes to vacant land in / around Paia, the area truly has something for everyone. Lower Paia includes the beachfront areas of Spreckelsville to the west and Kuau to the east. Many of the area’s stunning beachfront lots line the coast in Paia, “Spreck” and Kuau.
Upper Paia includes the area locals refer to as Skill Village, formerly the neighborhood that housed many of the sugarcane workers and their families.
